Tools and Materials You'll Need:

Screwdriver

Adjustable wrench

Silicone adhesive

Mounting clips or brackets

Clamps

Paper towels or rags

Plumber's putty (optional)

Steps to Rehang an Under-Mount Sink:

Turn off the water supply: Before you rehang under-mount sink begin, turn off the water supply to the sink. This is usually done by shutting off the water valves under the sink.

Disconnect plumbing: Disconnect the plumbing connections such as the P-trap and any water supply lines. Use an adjustable wrench to remove nuts and connectors.

Remove the old sink: To remove the old sink, first detach any clips or brackets that are holding it in place. You may need a screwdriver or a wrench for this step. Once the sink is free, carefully lift it out of the countertop.

Clean the countertop: Clean any old adhesive or debris from the countertop where the sink will be reattached. You can use a putty knife to scrape away old adhesive.

Prepare the sink: If you're reusing the same sink, clean it thoroughly. If you're installing a new sink, make sure it's clean and free of any debris.

Apply adhesive: Apply a bead of silicone adhesive to the rim of the sink. Make sure it's evenly distributed to create a good seal when you place the sink in the countertop.

Reposition the sink: Carefully lower the sink into the opening in the countertop. Ensure it's properly centered and aligned. You may need a helper for this step.

Secure the sink: Attach the sink to the countertop using mounting clips or brackets. These should be included with the sink or can be purchased separately. Tighten them to hold the sink in place.

Clean excess adhesive: Wipe away any excess silicone adhesive using paper towels or rags. It's important to do this while the adhesive is still wet.

Reconnect plumbing: Reconnect the P-trap and water supply lines. Make sure all connections are tight and secure.

Turn on the water supply: Turn the water supply back on and check for any leaks. If you notice any leaks, tighten the connections as needed.

Check for a proper seal: Let the silicone adhesive dry as per the manufacturer's instructions. This will ensure a proper seal between the sink and the countertop.

If you prefer, you can use plumber's putty instead of silicone adhesive for sealing the sink. Follow the manufacturer's recommendations for the specific product you're using. Always refer to the sink and adhesive manufacturer's instructions for any specific recommendations or variations in the installation process.
